Tracing Pictures

In Cybersmart, Room 4 and I have been learning how to be digital drawers using tracing skills. We have been using the curved and polyline tool. We chose a picture that we liked and made sure it was a cartoon picture. We traced them using these line tools and then added colour to match the original. Below I have attached mine.

Have you done this before? What tips could you give me and Room 4?

Thanks,
Miss Holland

Week 2 Maths (Term 3)

In room 4 we have been learning mathematics through problem-solving. We have been using addition and subtraction strategies and multiplication and division strategies.

We have found different parts of maths challenging;

  • We found working on our own hard when our buddy was sick
  • We found it hard because we had questions that had more than 3 steps
  • We also found it hard working alongside our buddies this was because we had different opinions. We did come up with some solutions for next week. We decided to help them, to teach them the strategies that we like and to try and work as a team. We need to have a positive attitude when we do this.
  • We also found that we weren't always doing our part. We would slack off. We will make sure we do our part next week and help our buddy.
  • We also found we weren't communicating well. We will make sure we talk to our buddy next week when things are hard and that we talk to each other.

Our trip to the Museum

Our class was very lucky in getting the chance to go to the Art Gallery, Museum and the Arts Centre. We first went to the Art Gallery. We got to do an activity scavenger hunt around the Art Gallery, most of the children loved the yellow moon which looked like a cheese hut.

Next, we went to the Museum, we got to explore the Sun Exhibit. We got to go into an inflatable sun, watch videos and got to run on a snail trail. The children had so much fun and were sad to leave.

We went to the Art Centre to have lunch. We said prayers and ate together. It was very cold.

Here are some photos from our day!

Kiwi Can

This term Katie and Ross will be teaching us all about the importance of positive relationships, including fairness, fair play, leadership and how to solve problems. This will be something that we will continue to focus on in class time.  Here are some photos of Room 4 showing teamwork and fair play on Friday.

These photos are of us playing blob, a game where teamwork and communication are important.

These are some photos of us working as a team to show and create things with our bodies. This was hard as we all had great ideas but we had to use our communication skills to work together.
